Aquí Seguimos: A Legacy of Love and a History of Resistance is a collaborative group exhibition and fundraiser honoring the connection between Mexican and Palestinian communities. Rooted in contemporary art, this show aims to honor the radical act of imagining liberation while living with the weight of the histories we inherit and the reality we endure.
Cansados, casi muertos, desesperados, aquí seguimos.
Tired, nearly dead, desperate, we remain.
As our communities face escalating violence, deportation, erasure, and dehumanization, Aquí Seguimos is an act of refusal — a call to persist. Featuring works by Mexican and Palestinian artists across mediums and borders, Aquí Seguimos reminds us that radical imagination and the preservation of culture are resistance against those who seek to erase us. As a fundraiser, the event will evenly direct proceeds toward the Gaza Mutual Aid Collective and Migrant Solidarity Mutual Aid Network, while also serving as a meaningful cultural offering to the broader community.
Opening September 3, 2026 at Making Space BMore, Aquí Seguimos is set against a backdrop of the Sabra and Shatila Massacre (1982) and Mexican Independence (1810-1821). The exhibition reflects a liminality that continues to haunt our communities: the suspension between grief and joy, tragedy and liberation, suffering and sovereignty.

Z&Z Manoush’s story begins in the 1980s; when their father and grandfather first immigrated to America and began opening up sub and fried chicken joints in Maryland. They grew up in these shops, watching their parents and grandparents work hard to make ends meet for their growing family. Food was central to their Palestinian and Jordanian family; both at work and at home. They were raised on steak and cheese subs as much as Zayt (Olive Oil) and Za’atar.
Growing up in their family restaurants, their parents would always stress the importance of education so that they could get good jobs, their family wanted a different life for them. For a while, that’s exactly what they did, but something was missing. As they grew older, they began to appreciate their Arab-American heritage and culture. They wanted to find a way to share the flavors, generosity, and hospitality of the Middle East with our community. So in 2016, they left their corporate jobs and Z&Z was born - a farmer market stand selling Manoushe - a classic Middle Eastern street food starring Zayt and Za’atar.
They’ve grown a lot since then, but their goal hasn't changed - they want to share a small part of their Middle Eastern heritage with you.

Food and family have always been central to Chef Rosalyn Vera's identity and values. She spent her early childhood living in Mexico City with her Grandmother where she learned to make tortillas by hand and worked alongside her parents as they built a business around food in their community in New York. Her culinary creations are deeply tied to the traditions and cuisines of Oaxaca and Puebla, the two Mexican states from which her family originates. Through Cocina Luchadoras, Rosalyn takes great pride and considers it a privilege to be able to share her culture and nourish her community through food.
