CALL FOR ARTISTS

Aquí Seguimos: A Legacy of Love and a History of Resistance is a collaborative group exhibition and fundraiser honoring the connection between Mexican and Palestinian communities. Rooted in contemporary art, this show aims to honor the radical act of imagining liberation while living with the weight of the histories we inherit and the reality we endure.

Cansados, casi muertos, desesperados, Aquí Seguimos.

Tired, nearly dead, desperate, jaded, and battered, we remain.

As our communities face escalating violence, deportation, erasure, and dehumanization, Aquí Seguimos is a refusal to let our oppressors win — a call to persist. Featuring works by Mexican and Palestinian artists across mediums, Aquí Seguimos reminds us that radical imagination and the preservation of culture is resistance against those who seek to erase us. As a fundraiser, the event will direct proceeds toward the Gaza Mutual Aid Collective and Migrant Solidarity Mutual Aid Network, while also serving as a meaningful cultural offering to the broader community.

Opening September 3, 2026 at Making Space BMore, Aquí Seguimos is set against the Sabra and Shatila Massacre (1982) and Mexican Independence (1810-1821). The exhibition reflects a liminality that continues to haunt our communities: the suspension between grief and joy, tragedy and liberation, suffering and sovereignty. We ask contributors to contemplate this theme, sincerely considering what it means to remain steadfast in times of genocide, expulsion, and fragmentation.

We invite Mexican and Palestinian artists, writers, poets, and musicians working across mediums to participate. This call is not restricted to artists based in the U.S. or artwork produced for English-speaking audiences. Artists will be asked to submit up to 5 works responding to the prompt, a brief description of their work, and a short bio before July 24th to be considered.

CONVOCATORIA
